BT Fusion-a-like

Options
Hi there

Does anyone know how easy / difficult it would be to configure a wireless router / technology to allow phone calls to be dialled and received like BT Fusion... ?

It's probably a tall order, but I thought that if any group of people would know if it were possible, it'd be this board.

Thoughts?

Thanks

  • Yes. But also the BT site is cleverly worded so that you don't know whether you can receive calls through the service.

Given that most new mobiles have wireless connectivity (at least bluetooth) you would have thought other businesses could have launched this service.

Reasons why I'm not choosing BT Fusion?
    - Under contract with Orange
    - Have avoided BT at all costs (extortion never pays)
    - I have all the kit required... except the functionality!

the calls are via broadband using VOIP, the bluetooth bit just tells the router you are in range of it

the software on the router and phone are customised, not sure how, but you can pair your handset with another router and it knows it's your phone regardless and charges it to your bill

I suspect there is as much chance of setting it up at home as there is of hacking the mobile network !!
