HELP!!
I need to find out when the 20% off books for students in charing cross days are. these normally happen around now and the summer term and last a few days at a time. it's normally on in blackwells, borders and foyles.
they dont advertise (obviously) and tend to only put the signs up a few days before it happens. yes i promise you its 20% i've been for the past 3 years preparing for the next academic year and i wanna know when the next student discount days are so i can buy some books that are only 50p cheaper online than the RRP!
does anyone know/seen any adverts?
ps the student days are normally nationwide at borders, and its applicable on EVERYTHING, magazines, CDs, paperchase etc.

in my experience no, ive never seen these at the start of term, always at the end of term when people are too busy living up the summer to realise its time to stock up on books. ive never ever seen it in september, just the crappy 'collect 15stamps and get £5off' at blackwells.:A Boots Tart :A0

really. i have been in london for the past 2 years and for the last 2 octobers (i think its like 2 weeks) they always do 20% off in borders oxford street, and 10% off waterstones on tottenham court rd and gower street too. fowlers at the same time will have 10% off but only on selected txtbook.
these discounted are targeted to the students and available if u present the NUS card. im pretty sure they will have one this oct again just like the last 2 years!
so true on the txtbook shopping right now though. exams in less than 1 month and the books from library have seem to be all gone and held. bloody hell.0
