Hello,
yesterday night someone broke into my car and damaged following
My car is L reg Toyota car but a very good runner. I just spent £250 on new clutch and servicing.
What should I do?
take it to garage and see how much to fix it. the problem is i have to pay for towing (guess both to and fro) which might be a fortune
parts and labour.
Or claim from insurance. which will probably write off my car saying it is worthless. (they go by generic value rather condition of CAR)
BTW I made a complaint to POlice and Forensic expert came this afternoon but could not find any finger print.
Please advice me ASAP. I am very upset and low at the moment.
I need your help.
Thanks for reading

Hello Swami,
I'm sorry for your mis-fortune.
When you say the plastic piece under the steering wheel, i take it you mean the steering column and without knowing just how badly damaged it is i doubt people on here are going to be able to advise you on that.
How was the driver's door forcefully opened? did they just stick something in the top and lever it open or is it some other way.
I do hope you get some other help as i don't know an awful lot but first i would phone a few scrapyards and get quotes for the damaged parts to your vehicle.0 -
If its a toyota do you mean the plastic lever under the steering wheel that you use to move the steering wheel up or down according to your seat position?
I doubt that the insurance would write off the car - they tend to that when the actual chassis has been damaged. Approach them and see what they say also look in scrapyards etc.0 -
