Can anyone advise of a good credit card for balance transfers, definitely 0% for longest period. Am with MBNA at moment so can't opt for any of theirs and a lot of companies seem to have MBNA cards. Is it worth applying for the HSBC or holding off until January to see what else becomes available? thanks, mrs goggins

It's anybody's guess whether there will be better offers in the New Year. If the HSBC card looks good, I'd go for it now. Time is money.0

If best = longest, and assuming that you can't get one of the rare application forms for Capital One 18 months, then your next best bet is the LloydsTSB Advance card:

12 months 0% for BTs, but no use for purchases, even after the intro period, as they attract interest from day 1, rather than the usual Interest Free Period of statement date + 25 days.
I don't know if they give good credit limits or not. Maybe someone else who has got one could say?
I hope this helps,

Thanks to you both. Think I'll give the Lloyds TSB one a try, not looking for huge credit limit, just need to move balance from an MBNA card that's coming to end of its 0% - don't want to start paying for credit!
