Capital One Free Credit Report

Hi,

I've searched around for this but couldn't find anything (apologies if I didn't look hard enough).

I've just got my Capital One Card, and was looking into the free Equifax Reports. I've previously had one for a few months then cancelled it.

To qualify for the free reports should I sign up as a new customer with my Cap1 Card details or can I go in as a returning customer & just edit the card details to my cap1?

I didn't want to just log in as my old account incase I got stung for a charge...

cheers :)

I think you are talking about 2 seperate offers here.

In the first case I think you are talking about the general offer here for a free trial.
    http://www.equifax.co.uk/
In which case you will not be able to get it again.

The second offer you are talking about is here and is specific to capital one customers.

So if I'm right so far, then the way to avoid paying is to go through the correct (second) link specifically for the Capital One offer.

That is right - use the cap1 link. I too had just finished the free equifax offer when I took up the cap1 offer. Just to be on the safe side I created a different user name and use a different email id. This was about one year ago and so far no problems.
