Help!

Hi! I parked my car on the road - not on double yellows, no sign, no nothing - and recieved a ticket, as did the rest of the street (about 30 other cars)
I appealed against it and have just got my court date (arrghh!!)
The PCSO who issued me with the ticket said in his statement that he gave them out for 'unecassary obstruction' as HGV and buses couldnt fit through and had to bump up on one of those central pavement things what are used for crossing.
I dont understand why he is able to issue the ticket in the first place if there are no signs saying that we cant park there?
Also in his statement, he said all cars had all 4 wheels on the road - i didnt i was on the pavement too, but could they then swing it the other way and say i shouldnt be on the pavement anyway?!
Help please!! SO nervous about going to court as i dont understand what i have done wrong or why they are able to dish out tickets willynilly!

  • I think the council could actually be sued for maladministration as they have duty if care to make sure signs are clear. I think a Yorkshire policeman did this once and they had to return all monies to every previous driver who was issued a ticket.

If you post pictures of the street and a copy of the ticket with your personal details blanked out, someone will be along like Neil B to have a look.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Yeah, post your details up here - washed - and get someone like Neil as mentioned or Bargepole or Sarahg1969 to look them over. Pogofish is also pretty hot on this sort of stuff. You will get good advice from them. Be warned there are people who troll these forums as well.
