FLIES! loads of them! why!

I have noticed that in this warmer weather, I tend to get loads of flies coming into the house when I have the windows and the french doors open, they come in, fly around then leave again, but why are they coming in? I keep a clean house, no food lying about etc, but they seem to love my lounge!! Could it be because of the cat? I have bought an extending vertical lemon smelling thing and put that on the coffee table and that seems to make them leave faster, but nothing seems to stop them coming in full stop? Any ideas?

I suspect they are curious and looking for food etc

We get it too I have very large double patio doors and even having one open 6" is enough to let the odd one in.

Seriously though - I have the same problem and even though you try to chase them back out with a magazine to freedom .... they go anywhere but!!

Yes I'm driven mad by them too, though it's mostly blue bottles that invade my house. I actually posted myself about the nuisance of them when the warm spell first began as I wondered if it were just me being invaded by the blasted creatures.

I have a can of flyspray to hand as I type.
