specific Q about scrappage
Options
Hi all,
I'm going to scrap my Nissan Micra in but I've got a few hoops to jump through before I can,
basically the car is currently SORN - (I have read I cannot scrap it in if this is the case?)
basically what I'm thinking of doing is getting temporary insurance on the car and getting it taxed and MOT'd and then buy a new car through the scheme and at the time of signing it will be road legal but by the time the new car actually comes in for pick up it will not be.
Is this OK? I don't want to take out a large amount of insurance on the car if I can help it. It's a bit of a loophole method but I'm wondering if its possible?
Are there any other nifty ways I can use in order to get the car ready for the scrap?
cheers.

Why worry about the insurance just take it out for the year and transfer it onto the new car or cancel and start again. I think that might be the cheaper option.
Having said all that I have just read this:-

So goodness knows!0 -
certainly food for thought. Don't really want to be charged even more on top which could in the end turn out to be more expensive that insuring the car for a month or 7 days.
cheers for the reply.0
