also the same age as the legal drinking age.Reduce police bureaucracy and put more coppers on the road. I drive around 200 miles a week and see one or two police cars a week at most (and most weeks, none at all).
The reason we never see police cars is because they've been replaced with speed cameras.0 -

You're right. There was an accident near here yesterday and half a dozen yellow boxes on sticks came rushing up and started coning off the road.scheming_gypsy wrote:The reason we never see police cars is because they've been replaced with speed cameras.

i think parents have got to shoulder an element of responsibility here for buying such stupid boy racer carsf or their offspring in the first place.
not much street cred in a brown ford fiesta, but they'll probably be less inclined to go racing than their peers in the suped-up nissan micras.
(a boy i was in school with wrote of an MG..yes, you did read that right, an MG...within a week of passing his test. panic not dear reader, daddy bought him another one straight away )know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
dark windows, not tinted, there is a legal minimum amount of light which must pass through, 70%.scheming_gypsy wrote:how'd you know he couldn't see out of his windows? my windows are tinted and i've never had a problem, even late at night.0 -
a curfew seems like a good idea, most teenage motor accidents happen after 11pm and any time up to 4amish... and mostly at weekends.
The facts speak for themselves, drink/drugs/showing off with a car full of friends.
Education is useless, at 17, 18, 19 you know you know better than all these oldies...0 -

I agree here, driving standards seem to have slipped generally, it seems you can do what you want as long as you dont break the speed limit near a speed camera. (PS i dont agree with speeding, but it is not the only issue on the road)

Which should be raised to 21, IMHO.The reason we never see police cars is because they've been replaced with speed cameras.
Yes, I saw a speed camera with wheels and a flashing light yesterday. It had seats too!0
