Capital One closing accounts

Just opened a letter from Capital One where it says that because I haven't used my account for over 12 months they are closing it. Was a bit disappointed until I realised the letter wasn't actually addressed to me, but to the previous owner who moved over three years ago.

But it made me think - if, like me, you are keeping your Capital One account open just for the free Identity Theft Protection, free Identity Theft Alert and the 2 free credit checks a year, then it might be an idea to stick a small transaction or two through - soon - just to keep 'em sweet.
