Hi Guys,

having trouble with my internet at work, has worked fine for over a year but in the last few weeks it keeps stalling.

i.e. i can use it for ten minutes then it won't load pages up, the progress bar at the bottom stops half way and won't continue. the same problem is causing MSN messenger to log off. i have to shut all internet windows down and start up internet explorer again. getting pretty annoying because i keep having to log into emails and everyother i site i use.

Can anyone tell me why?

thought i'd try here and maybe get an answer because i have to phone india and explain to someone there why it doesn't work before they will phone IT a floor down to come help. which take approximately 3 weeks - madness.

If it happening to everyone, it is probably your IT departments proxy server. or internet connection.. which only they can fix.

If it is only you, then a rebuild of your profile or PC may help, but it is still going to be the IT depts problem.

You could try clearing out your IE cache, under tools, internet options, temp internet files, but I doubt it will help.

it's not happening to anyone else.

just checked how my CPU was doing when it was stalling - it's running fine at about 5%, task manager also says IE is running fine.

cleared all my cookies and temp files but still stalls.

Oh and im running windows NT if this helps.

If someone else logs onto your PC does it happen. If you log onto another PC, does it happen?

You really need to get on the phone to India.., or log a call, and nag your local support directly, an hour later.

Hi,

Could it be that there is a scheduled task occuring?

Usually a virus scan or a back up?
It may not be a problem with colleagues of your user account is based on a different server.
