Hi
I am about to having my garage converted and we are knocking throught into the lounge from the new room. This entrance will be under the stairs and so the doorway will be sloped.
How can i get a door for here? we have cheapy panneled doors (modern house)
Is there a way we can get a nice door?

If you wanted to used the cheapy panneled door, with a bit of work and effort it is possable to cut and shut it.
But if you want a nice door, your best best is find a local carpenter to make you one.
I have made a framed, ledged and braced tongue and groove door for a similar situation. (i'll put a pic up if i can find one.)0 -

Yep, cut it with a fine tooth saw, then look at the cross section and the internal is usually like an 'egg box' type cardboard, with wooden bracing around the edge. Just clear out about an inch of the cardboard (chop it out with a stanley knife) to allow you to 'let in' an appropriate sized length of wood to brace the cut edge. - It sounds like a bodge job, but if you are a good diyer, then you should be able to make a really neat job

It is possable to do a very proffesional looking job, but i'm not sure it's worth it!
THIS is a fantastic website and shows how to do a very nice job cutting down a hollow door.0
