Door dipping / stripping in esher / surrey area?

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend door dipping around esher / cobham / claygate area? Should there be anything I should be aware of with dipping (I've read about some types can damage the doors if left dipped too long?)
We've recently moved into a 1920s semi and after ripping off 3mm ply from all of the doors we're left with lovely panel doors in need of some care.
I'm thinking of dipping and optionally repainting them (we may leave them as bare, but I know 1920s doors were always supposed to be painted).
Thanks,

My FIL has a business doing this but he's in Sussex so a bit far from you.
Generally, the only things you need to work about is a slight risk to glazed doors, if the glass is left in and obviously laminated materials.
I think that oak doors have to be done by hand as they can't go in the tank due to the caustic turning the oak black.0 -
Hi
This company has been around for some years now. There is always a danger of the joints opening up after stripping. Using a hot air gun is a soul destroying job. But would avoid this.

Markie1980, would you be able to give more details of your FIL's business? I am based in East Sussex and am looking for a company to dip my doors and a fireplace.
Thanks,

I've sent you a pm with the details - I hope they can help.0

I had all my old doors dipped & stripped at the same time. The grain did open up, andthe work to grain fill & subsequently sand them was an awful lot of work. I'd strongly suggest that you dip/strip one door first & see how it comes out. Also, strip one door by hand & see which was the easier. I would recommend grain filller though (you can google it). It works a treat0
