Selling used cameras

Options
I was wondering if there was any way of making money from an old camera - much the same way as selling old mobile phones. I have just got a new digital camera and wondered if there was anywhere i could sell my old one. I don't have an Ebay account.

Thanks

Unless its a rare camera I doubt it will be worth much at all, I would hazard a guess you couldn't give it away to some people

    Most people want digital now

All 3 of mine are sitting on the dining room table...it scares me when I think of how much I spent on the older 2....camera, docking stations, batteries and memory cards and they are now in total worth less than what I paid for the memory cards! lol

Your best bet is to find someone else who does have an eBay account and then to get them to sell it on there on your behalf.

I had 2 old cameras that were not working and managed to sell both on there for a reasonable sum.

See if the same make/model is being sold on ebay, and what prices they have sold for. You don't need to have an ebay account to search on ebay.

I think Jessops sell second hand cameras so might be worth seeing if they will buy yours. Also there's a shop up north called Camera Mart which buys and sells second hand cameras - not sure if they are nationwide but probably worth checking your local yellow pages.

    Hi,

Royal Mail have a recycling scheme called Simply Drop. As well as mobile phones, you can recycle digital cameras and mp3 players for cash.

You can choose make and model from a drop down list and they will tell you the value.

    Hope this helps.
