OP, are you the registered keeper of the vehicle. If so, did you receive it within 14 days of the alleged offence? And was it posted first class?

You can lose it at 6 if you've had your license for less than 2 years. Otherwise it's at 12.

Just think if they jailed everyone who speeded!

It will be clear on the paperwork how she pay's the fine.

Back in the day you used to have to go to the payments section of the magistrates court. But I believe these days you can send a cheque or do credit card over the phone. Don't know if they're doing online payments yet but I wouldn't be surprised!

The first letter she gets will be her NIP in her own name. She must complete the form confirming she was driving, and send that off within 28 days.

Provided the speed wasn't excessive (which it wasn't), and she hasn't already got 9 points, they will usually respond with a Conditional Offer of a Fixed Penalty.

To accept this, she simply signs the form, and sends it back with her driving licence, and a cheque or card details. Note - best to send this Special Delivery, if your licence gets lost in the post it can mean a big hassle.
