Windows....do I have a US version?

Sorry.......I have had very little sleep over the lase few nights and I KNOW my brain is working in go slow mode.

I've just updated the firmware for my router and I want to do the same for son's wireless adapter.

On the download page it says.....If you are not using a US version of Windows, do not use this firmware!

Since the settings have to be changed for time and keyboard layout etc to English UK.....am I right in assuming we do have a US version????

Please note...I will probably delete this on the grounds of 'embarrassing stupidity' after some kind soul takes pity on me again today! :rolleyes:

US and UK are the same, apart from the keyboard layout.. what that has got to do with wireless is beyond me.

They may mean, it is only for use on the US wireless adapters, they have a diff channel range to europe

It's more likely to do with the extra wireless channels that we have over here. In the US they have channels 1-11 and europe have 1-13. So if you update the card/router with US firmware, you'll loose those channels and maybe some other stuff as well. Stick to the UK/Euro/Rest of World firmware.
