Is this right with BT

Hi everyone,
I'm with BT and i'm sick of getting £150 bills with 28p worth of phone calls. This does include my internet which they are charging around £30 a month. I can get it lots cheaper but they are saying i will have to pay £400 to get out of the contract?? They have said they have the recording in which i agreed to this. I don't remember. Also its on a buissness line is a residential house for some reason so i'm being charged all these extra things and i don't even have a buissness.
My friend swent onto BT a few months after me also a buissness line but it was being used as a buissness and they have swapped companys and they would have around a year left on there contract??
