Provide your own pictures to the estate agent

We are in the process of putting our house on the market, and have signed up with an estate agent. They came to take photos the other day, and whilst he was there I had a quick look at them, but couldn't really tell what they were going to look like as it was a small camera screen.
Anyway, yesterday I requested that they email the pictures which they were intending on using and although some of them were alright, others were very bad, with bad light and some fuzzy.
I know that I should ask the agent to come back and re take some of them, but does any know / ever provided there own pictures of their house for an estate agent to use.

I provided the photos for my last 2 house sales, its a major annoyance of mine, that they usually send someone round with the photography skills of a 3 yr old. The amount of very badly taken pictures on rightmove is astonishing.
Just ask the estate agent what format they want the images in, Mine was Jpegs.0 -
Thanks for the reply, I will let the estate agent know that we will provide our own pictures, and ask them what format they want them in.0

I cant imagine why not.
In fact, we're hoping to put our home on the market at the end of the year so i've already taken photos of our house, the summer sun and the garden in full bloom will make it much more appealing !!Friend Debt: 5,000/3,850

We were on with several agents whilst selling ours, and with every single one (except House Network who did excellent photos) we had to ask them to use our own photos, as the ones the agents took were appalling.
Either dark, fuzzy, or just didn't show the whole room. You're employing the agent to do a job for you, so I can't see why they would object to you asking to use your own photos.0 -
If you have a decent camera I recommend taking your own pics. The EA will have a small digital camera and is never going to say, "I'll come back when it's sunnier.." or ask you to move things around to get a better photo.
Takes loads of your own and then you can go through them, crop them etc. to get the best possible pics. You should just be able to send them in an email to the EA.
You only need to look on Rightmove to see that many EA's are clueless about taking good photos.0 -

... so people will think it's been on the market for ages....???0 -
Well we do have a decent digital SLR camera and my husband is quite good at taking photos, and then I can spend ages moving stuff out of the photos which I don't like in there and re-arranging to show the house of to the best of it's ability.
I emailed the estate agent earlier, to let them know that I didn't want them to use the pictures that they had taken and that we were going to email them some more to use, this evening.
As yet, I haven't had a reply!0 -

Mine had a basic digital SLR, and did get me to shift a couple of bits around... Don't see any reason you can't supply your own if you'd do a better job, though.0 -
Ours hire a professional photographer with a crazy wide-angle lens. It was the reason we chose to go with that agent.0

Never thought about that.... maybe I'll leave the garden ones out!! Although I have to admit its never crossed my mind to look at a photo and then decide how long a house has been on the market !!
