I went in the last week before June, before the peak,to Varadero, hotel Las Sirenas, which is an older more established hotel which was fantastic. peak season start July when apparently it can get very busy.(Mid 30's, and wanted a relaxed holiday)

we went 2 years ago in late sept just after the big hurricane and the weather was great. not too busy either. we went to havana and then varadero.
  • I loved cuba, would go back there again. (if I had the money).
But in October it is called the dead season and the cigar factories are closed I cannot remember for how long. But well worth a visit.
I stayed in Guardalavca in the Holguin province, visited Santiago de Cuba, Havana, Holguin because the excursions with holiday company was so cheap.

Also I will never forget swimming with the dolphins best experience I have had.
Great also for a chill out holiday.

Personally I think the best time to go to that part of the world is February or March when there is no risk of hurricanes and the weather is settled.
