Best way of paying via PAYPAL ?
Rochdale_Guy
I used to pay for everything on my credit card, then settled the bill when it came.
But, the bills got larger so I made my bank SWITCH card the preferred payment method, as soon as I bought an auction item, the money came off my SWITCH, nice and easy !
Then I stupidly signed up for their Direct Debit scheme, why I don't know.
Anyway, I can't seem to find how to cancel this Direct Debit payment method anywhere, the only thing I could find was totally removing your bank account from your profile in PAYPAL then starting again...
HELP PLEASE ASAP ! :-/ :'(

I would if I wasn't in the middle of a dispute regarding non receipt of goods from a dodgy seller, see here:

When I used to use paypal (never again) I setup the direct debit also, the easiest thing you can do is phone you bank and tell them to cancel any direct debits to PAYPAL full stop from or to your acoount. Then If you get a refund through the chargeback, your currently involved in, then you can register a different card to your paypal account to transfer your refunded money onto that?!"£$%^&*()0

I have read your threads on this.
You have been stung for £7.50, sad but true.
If PayPal can not get the money back there is not much you can do apart from taking legal action.
The time and effort you are puting into this is just not worth it.
Time to give it rest I think!!!!!0 -
Then again if Paypal are ripping off a few thousand people for £7.50 - hoping you won't bother following it up, they will make a nice £15,000 from just 2000 people!!!!!!"£$%^&*()0

My fault that things are a little cross wired here... there are 2 events running:
a) I was shafted by a seller and the £7.99 payment through PAYPAL was taken, e-mails to the seller bounced, and still do, and I have received no item despite filing a transaction complaint through PAYPAL and the seller replied via PAYPAL saying he's posted the game.
b) PAYPAL have taken £7.50 out of my account for no apparent reason (listed as PAYPAL San Jose) on my bank statement. This has also happened to other PAYPAL/eBay UK users.
So, PAYPAL appear to be screwing us too.
We should give them NEGATIVE feedback..0 -

You must have given them the mechanism to do this e.g. direct debit authorisation.
They can only take money from my credit card. If they do this without authorisation then I have protection from the credit card company.
I would suggest to anyone that hasn't already set this up that you DON'T give paypal authorisation to debit your bank account, only your credit card. This gives you more protection if anything goes wrong.0
