would you take out a 12mth warranty for an extra £80

doing a deal on a car today last serviced 2mths ago, i agreed on a cash price but for an extra £80 i could have had and still can have a 12mth warranty is it worth paying out the extra for it?
i don't know what it covers i would guess the basics he mentioned things like the cambelt but is that worth 80quid? opinions please

    It will all come down to what is covered but £80 sounds quite cheap. Sure someone who will be along soon with more knowledge than me.

    as well as checking whats covered consider the amount to which it covers - some have ludicrously low max claim value

    Warranty products are somewhat notorious for "that's wear and tear sir/madame" whenever you try to claim.
    There is absolutely no way you will get a worthwhile warranty for £80 a year unless someone is subsidising the full premium or it's for a bicycle.
    Get a quote from warranty direct, who publish a wear and tear policy and any other provider that will actually tell you what their wear and tear policy is - i.e. tell you when they will actually pay up.
    For a Mondeo type family car a premium price high enought to actually fund repairs without bankrupting the insurer in the process is going to be around the £350 mark.
