HI. I am hoping to get a BT landline to reduce my bills, as I am currently with NTL. The house does not have a BT landline. Do you know if there is any way of having one fitted without the £99.99 charge?

If its any help BT will allow you to pay this by instalments. (Four if i remember corrrectly).0

The cost is £99 (it used to be £75) for anyone who has never had BT before (ie needing a brand new line installed) and is payable quarterly at a rate of £22.49 but this method includes a £12 odd 'administration' fee taking it to £112.45.
If the house has had a BT line before then (ie previous occupier) then it is free reconnection.

Can I suggest when the engineer comes around give them tea and biscuits and be really nice ( you should be anyways ). We did this and let him use our power to drill some holes (his cordless was flat).... somehow we didnt get the bill for installation ;-)....
