Radiator Tails

I need to replace a TRV with a lockshield valve on a radiator. It's in a really awkward place, and taking the whole rad out would be a real hassle. I can get the TRV off easy enough, but getting the tail out, or rather, getting a new one in, is going to be a nightmare. Do I have to change the tail or can I just reuse the existing one? It's not been on there long, just a few months (bad planning, I know!). It's an ecocal TRV, if I got an ecocal lock shield could I reuse the existing tail then? If so, anyone know where stocks them?
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

You should beable to reuse the tail as the nuts will fit together but sometimes they are ever so slightly different so just to be on the safe side to stop any leaks use some PTFE tape as well and that should do the trick .. Not the best solution but if its going to be hard getting the tail out its the next best thing
