Pricing advice Corsa

I have seen a 2003 53 Reg VAUXHALL Corsa 1.2 16v SXi 5 door for 3995 at a local dealers. It is in very good condition and has a low mileage, it has had 2 previous owners, the last of which was a 50 yr old local who has owned it from 6mths old. The dealer will include 12mths MOT and tax, 6mths warranty and will discount £50. We have been looking for a while for a 5 door corsa, there aren't many about. Parkers guide gives a price of £3495 for an independant. The dealer says that good second hand cars are in short supply. We have seen similar car at a different dealers and they wouldn't budge at all on their price, again this was valued lower on Parkers.

Do you think this is a fair deal for this car?

How much more? I am not sure if the Parker's valuation would take into account a 12mth tax and MOT?

Its very overpriced. I'm assuming its not got high miles, so i had a quick look on autotrader. I found three under 60K miles, for under £3000.

All cars for resale are assumed to have at least 6 months MOT. Tax wouldnt be much on it either, so thats no big shakes.

Be prepared to travel a bit, and you could save an easy £800 - £1000 elsewhere, OR get a much younger car, no matter what your dealer tells you

Thanks for the advie, we travelled last weekend to see the 2 nearest to us about 120 mile round trip, both looked good on the write ups but on close inspection were a little on the tatty side, one of the models was too basic. Trouble is there aren't many 5 doors that are near to us, the next nearest to look at is 55 miles away.
