Java update question

In my Add/Remove programmes dialogue box, there are 8 Java updates/ Runtime Environment updates each around 100mB in size. Do I need them all or can I delete the older ones? There's Java update 2, 3, 5,7 and 14, and Runtime Env 5.0, 5.0 update 9 and 6 update 1.
Thanks for any advice.

Yes you can delete them and yes you should delete them. The older versions have security loopholes and you are still vulnerable if they are still installed.
Try using JavaRa to remove/update.

Sometimes though removing the old versions can corrupt the installation of Java, so what I've done in the past is to uninstall the whole lot and then re-install the latest version from the Java website.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
