Fantastic service for the past 12 years plus!!
Yesterday I called to move some money and the lady said happy birthday awww!! I know it is simple to make info like that pop up on the screen but it shows that they really think like human beings about what makes the difference.
I have had calls regarding suspicious dd transactions eg when RBS tried to call off someone elses' full balance of £7K instead of mine of £700. Don't get me started on that one !! Wrong thread!!

I've been with FD for about 10 years, now, and generally I think they're great. However, I have to disagree with the comment that they always answer the phone quickly - over the last three years or so I have found their phone answering has got a lot slower, and I quite often get electronic voices, and 'hold' music before speaking to a real person! Not nearly as long a wait as lots of other places, however - so I'm still quite happy with them! Have to say, though, that A&L's new current account paying 5.5% is quite tempting, thought0

I have to say how excellent first direct are again!!! I ordered my euro's for my holiday saturday. 8)
Did it all on the net - lovely jubbly - and they were very speedy at sending out my dosh and travellers cheques.
5* service once again.

I've been with FD for 8 years.
Prior to this I fell out with TSB,Yorkshire Bank and Barclays.
I have a friend who is branch manager of Natwest and she can't believe the level of service FD offers.0 -
I was also told recently that the great telephone service is provided in spite of the fact that the operators have to pull data from multiple screens and applications and are working their wotsits off while calmly handling your query.
We have a system for balances/statements, a system for so and dd's, a system for visa, system for actions paying bills etc and another system that finds us extension numbers or general info to help if we're stuck, its not easy.0 -
just wanted to add that i have been with FD for 10+ years, and in only one ocassion have I had the feeling of wanting to move my account. A CC payment was made on a Direct Debit, and over the phone (my fault).
At first, I was charged £25 for going over my overdraft limit. I called and made a bit of a fuss, this was then halved to £12.50. Afterwards, this was then scratched off completey - as it was the first time, and they actually have a commitment to customer service.
Brilliant!! Def a thumbs up!
All they need to do now is increase the interest rate! ;DOne day I want to be the pigeon...... and not the statue!0 -
