I seriously doubt it. For anything approaching decent gaming performance you should probably be looking at something costing several hundred pounds more. Something like this might do in a pinch for the likes of WoW, but not much more than that.
Can't find anything for less than £480, so the Acer looks like your best bet price-wise. If however you're willing to spend a little more, here are a few alternatives for you to consider:0 -
It's a laptop, so no....
Whatever you do it, it will never be suited to online gaming

Yeah Firefox hates flash websites
lol (wish they'd fix that)
Performance laptops became quite popular some years ago with gamers attending "LAN party's", simply for the portability factor, but without an external gaming mouse and keyboard, you'll never compete in online games. Which kinda defeats the point
For the money you could buy a much much better spec desktop.
They're also sods for overheating.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Some excellent points there. I wonder... would this be able to handle World of Warcraft? Unless something else turns up it's probably the cheapest option available.0

I have a Acer Gemstone Laptop, got a ok graphics card in it. Cost £700 or so, the gemstone range have a decent GPU in them. Ive seen people play COD4 on the £900 gemstone model.
I play the odd game on mine, Americas Army for example. I actually prefer gaming on a laptop, just shame i aint got £2000 for a top spec gaming laptop:D
Reason im buying a desktop version. To answer your question, that laptop will not play WOW. You are looking for a laptop at £600 to play modest games on, any recent games then £900+0 -

No, the first link won't play it well at all. You'll be able to log in and maybe do some questing, but anything remotely taxing will cripple the low powered CPU and GPU.
You'll find most laptops will limit what you can do once you start getting lots happening on screen, which will restrict you from instance runs and battlegrounds, pretty much all of the endgame content.
Why specifically a laptop?
For a similar price you could get a much better performing desktop.0 -
The GPU in the netbook if paired with a core 2 duo would normally be ok at WoW. 1024 x 768 and low texture settings would give a playable framerate. However the atom CPU is pretty awful for gaming, purely because of the architecture.
Don't think this has been posted before. £130 cheaper than the acer in the first post. That has a GT, this is a GS which is slower...

Core 2 duo,

250gb hd

Most games should play ok at the native screen res...0 -
Thanks for all your replies to the original question.
I wasn't looking to buy the laptopl specifically for gaming but for work. I was just interested how it may fear with gameplay.
I might however look to have a desktop built specifically for gaming use. i have only just got into world of war craft. What other games are people into?0 -
Left 4 dead my fav game at the moment. Especially when you manage to find a team of decent players that all work together. That and footy manager 2009 pretty much the only games I ever play.0
