Hi,
Nothing new has been built.
Neighbours say they suspect tree roots which are in front of the property but not within my boundary. I contacted the council but they say my pipes must be too blame and must be broken.0 -
Have you lifted your inspection cover for a look and a good poke?
Wickes do sets of drain rods/ends or you can hire them from tool hire shops.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

You may be covered under your buildings insurance for investigation and repair.
It's the water company you need to speak to anyway, not the council.
If it's outside the curtilage of your property/garden, then it is the water company's responsibility to repair.
If it is outside your boundary and it has been done by 'council' tree roots, the water company will chase the council for payment.
It's only your responsibility within your property boundary in most cases - and as I said, your buildings insurance may cover this.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
how far have you investagated this already??? when you flush the chain does the toilet fill up straight away and when the toilet is full how long does it take to go down do you have children or use smellys on the side of toilets as these can be all factors0
