Penalty Charge Notice (Westminster, Code 27, dropped kerb)

Hi all, I received a PCN on the evening of Sun 22/06/2009. I had parked at a corner in Saint James' sq behind the blue Vauxhall Vectra estate car, on the single yellow line area in the photo. I have parked in this spot numerous times after 630pm, and have never had a problem until now. I had not noticed this dropped kerb since the pavement is quite low even before the drop. There's no white T-bar road markings to keep it clear, and no signs on a pole to warn people not to park. From looking at the google image the drop kerb does not lead to another dropped kerb on the other side of road (middle of square).
I have decided to appeal using the advice from user named TheBogsDollocks. I can't post a link to the thread as I not allowed to yet.

On Sunday 18th Dec '11, we had exactly the same experience and in the same corner space on St James Sq. We were just as shocked to receive a PCN for parking on single yellow line at 3.00pm and consider this as entrapment with no warning notices. The dropped curb has no purpose as to cross the road there leads straight in to a motorbike parking bay. If parking is not allowed at any time there should be a double yellow line.
Would be interested to know the outcome of your appeal back in '090 -
This thread is two and a half years old, started by a poster with just a single post, and whose last visit here (if you click on their username) is noted on their public profile as ''Last Activity: 10-07-2009''. I don't think the person will pop back again now!
What you should do is look at a current specialist forum with lots of code 27 dropped kerb PCN threads on it. Pepipoo is the forum for you, but please do not reply on a random thread, start your own new topic:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30
If you register and read a few threads to get the gist of that forum, and also read the the FAQs such as 'how to post pictures' then you will know what pics & info to put in your own new topic there. Most people win who post a new thread & pics of their PCN (both sides!) on pepipoo.
Good luck!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
