I have a book going on ebay which has reached £10.99 - it only costs £8.99 new from book shops.
You can get it on Amazon for £7 odd or £4 odd for second hand. V bizarre. Can't shake slight worry that I've accidentally advertised a free gold bar with it or something...
And what if they find out the actual worth after the auction and decide not to pay...
Mad.

A lot of people mistakenly believe that just because an item is on Ebay, it MUST be cheap. Don't worry too much about it. If they don't pay, follow the normal ebay procedures.0

I have a side-line business selling items that I buy new at the RRP at a local shop and sell them on ebay - ALWAYS at more than the RRP. That's just the way it is - don't worry about it!0

I've often wondered about the merits of buying a bulk order from somewhere like the book people and selling them individually on ebay to see if I can make some money on it.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

Oh no. The auction's finished at £10.99 but it's an American who's won it and she didn't contact me for postage costs which I had specified international bidders do and I hope she's realised that I don't take Paypal. And also she has negative feedback... I can't see this being easy.

What have you advertised as payment methods? If you say cheques or postal orders she may well send you a cheque that is likely to cost you a fair bit to cash.

My fiance accidentally ( ) joined a book club, and when he's read the books you have to buy we sell them on ebay for the same amount as we paid!Mark7799 wrote:I've often wondered about the merits of buying a bulk order from somewhere like the book people and selling them individually on ebay to see if I can make some money on it.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
