Gas and Electricity Bills can anyone help?

Hello, I am a fist time buyer about to buy a 2 bedroom apartment. I am wondering if anyone can help me with an estimate to how much I can expect to pay for gas and electricity a month. I would like an estimate on average use and the apartment i am buying is in the south east (berkshire).

I would be very grateful for any help or information any one can give me.

Thanks

  • Does your apartment have central heating and can you tell us what means of heating and cooking you intend to use?

The vendor may be kind enough to supply some figures.
Are you buying/aiming to live alone?
Do you shower rather than bathe?
As previous poster asked what type of cooking/heating?
Do you prefer it warm or cold?
One persons average can be very different from someone elses.
  • Sorry should have mentioned, yes it has central heating and there will be 2 of us living in the apartment. We would be cooking using a gas stove and we would normally be taking showers opposed to baths.

More useful than strangers guessing how long your piece of string will be will be for you to keep note of how much you use by reading your meters.

One imperial unit of gas costs around £1 and you get eight or nine electricity kWhs to the pound. This is in addition to a monthly charge of about £10.
