Netto - fresh chicken most decidedly wasn't

Bought a fresh chicken from the chiller cabinet of Netto (Newton Heath) on Saturday morning. It was dated as use by Monday.
Took it home (pretty swiftly) and stored it in the fridge. Unwrapped it on Sunday morning to be cooked - and boy did it honk
I haven't kept the wrapping or anything, and won't be bothering them for a refund - all I could think about was getting it out of the house and into the bin (triple wrapped).
Just thought I'd post it as a vent/warning to others!

Netto's stuff is crap, I used to deliver for them and also used to have to collect stuff from their warehouses, chilled and frozen foods can sit on a loading bay for hours before it is put away or loaded onto temperature controlled trailers. Their stuff is cheap for a very good reason, they do everything they can to cut costs - you do not want to know what I have seen at both their stores and their warehouses - needless to say I would never shop in one of the stores!!0

I've had that from Morrisons before, with a pack of chicken breasts. Bought a few packs, and usually they go straight into the freezer but luckily this time I was opening them up to freeze them in different quantities. One pack reeked like a blocked drain _pale_ - took it back and got a replacement. The staff are pretty understanding once you take it out the bag and wave it under their nose.0

Many large supermarkets have been built near residential (usually flats) areas. The refrigerated lorries have to run to keep the temperature correct. I read a case recently where residents had complained about the noise this generates and the supermarket lost the case. So what is happening to the food in the refrigerated lorries? I suspect it is slowly defrosting sitting around in supermarket carparks waiting to be unloaded.0
