Changing the hard disk on a Toshiba Tecra

Not having yet got one of these, I wonder how easy and practical it is to change the hard disk on one of these laptops, perhaps to try Windows 7 (or Ubuntu, or whatever) without running the risk of screwing up one's primary operating system. Could someone who has done this please offer an opinion?

[Yes, I know there are other ways of achieving dual-, triple-, multiple boot, Ubuntu WUBI, and so on and so forth, which is why my question is framed very specifically!]

Which model do you have as I believe on the 8000 you remove two screws and prize it out at the front.

The Ubuntu disc will run directly from within Windows without installing anything, to give you an idea of how it works. It's a bit like clicking an exe file that runs from a floppy.
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!
