Advice please on having 2 BT lines running at same time

Hi all
Wondering if someone can give some advice. I currently have a BT line which I took on a 12 month contract on 5 November 2008 in a rental house. We have to keep the rental house line live until we end the lease on 4 August.
We took over the working line of our new house on 5 June 2009. We therefore had to start a new contract for our new house.
I was told at the time that I took on the new line for our new house that we would probably have to pay a get out fee (£7.50 pm) for the remaining 3 months of our lease house line rental.
Does anyone know if BT will waiver the 3 months fee on our lease house phone that we are terminating early? If it had been a straight transfer of numbers on the one day, then I would not have had to start a new contract.
Any advice on how I should contact BT would be a great help.
Also, does anyone know if it is possible for BT to merge both my old account and new account into one account (ie both line rentals appearing on one bill)?
Many thanks
