Naturalisation

Hi All,

In March this year I applied for naturalisation to become a british citizen.

I am still waiting to hear back from them after they sent me a letter to say they are considering my application.

Has anyone been through the same process, if so how long did yours take to come through.

I have already contacted them and they couldnt give me an exact date.

I am a discharged bankrupcy, they requested authorisation to look into this, so sent this back to them, still havnt heard back.

Thanks.

My wife applied in 2004 - but I guess the process may have changed since then. She got a letter confirming that her naturalization had been approved after about a month, and her citizenship ceremony was arranged about a month after that.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
  • Hi All,

I still have not heard back from the home office, and it has been 1 year.

Every time i rang they said they passed it on to the officer, and they are waiting to hear back.

I was bankrupt in 2006, do you think this is holding it back?

    Thanks.

That could definitely be holding it back. I would write to them, rather than phone them. That way you can get a written response.
