Hi All,
In March this year I applied for naturalisation to become a british citizen.
I am still waiting to hear back from them after they sent me a letter to say they are considering my application.
Has anyone been through the same process, if so how long did yours take to come through.
I have already contacted them and they couldnt give me an exact date.
I am a discharged bankrupcy, they requested authorisation to look into this, so sent this back to them, still havnt heard back.
Thanks.

My husband applied for naturalisation last year and it took around 6 months.0

My wife applied in 2004 - but I guess the process may have changed since then. She got a letter confirming that her naturalization had been approved after about a month, and her citizenship ceremony was arranged about a month after that.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Hi All,
I still have not heard back from the home office, and it has been 1 year.
Every time i rang they said they passed it on to the officer, and they are waiting to hear back.
I was bankrupt in 2006, do you think this is holding it back?
Thanks.0 -

That could definitely be holding it back. I would write to them, rather than phone them. That way you can get a written response.0 -
