BMW Insurance
Options
Hi,
Amazingly the car insurance being offered by my BMW MINI dealer seems to beat any of the comparison sites, AXA Direct etc. It seems to have all the bits... is protected no claims, windscreen cover, courtesy car, legal etc AND a lower excess at £150. The premium is £245. Am I missing something or can this actually be the case?

Double check you've got all your details right! I've always found BMW to be one of the more expensive quotes for me.
Make sure you aren't on a mileage limited policy as well - I had a quote from Swiftcover (via the comparison websites) that was very attractive until I realised they had ignored the 25,000 miles pa that I do and quoted me for 6000.0 -
I think Mini insurance is just a rebranded section of a larger firm (UK Insurance?). When I bought my Mini around 5 years ago I got cover from them as they were the cheapest, but as is often the case when it came to renewal the price wasn't as competitive so I just went elsewhere.
I had no problem with the insurance or the cover, although I never made a claim. One very good feature was that they knew the Mini very well so i had no trouble letting them know the full spec of the car (pepper pack, air con etc). A couple of other insurers wouldn't touch it as it was 'heavily' modified, even though they were factory fitted options(!), and another wanted the ins and out of every modification, including how much the sports suspension plus lowered the car.0 -
I was quoted a fantastic price by MINI insurance as well when i bought my last one if it were just me on the policy. With H on it, it wasn't as competitive because he has points.
My new one I have insured with Admiral, they blew every every other quote waay out of the water.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If it is as good as their bike insurance then it will be worth having. I had BMW's bike insurance for two years and it was a cracking deal. One nice extra was automatic cover for courtesy vehicle when my bike was being serviced or repaired (a frequent occurence on a BMW bike
)

Cheers, thanks a lot. I'll check out the details when the quote arrives.0

Well, there's no mileage limit and the excess is actually £100. There must be a catch....0

I ran a quote through on the BMW website for my car (330d), and it still came out as a scary big number (over twice what I pay with LV for the same cover).
It looks like the same company as that from the MINI website - from other comments above, maybe it is just a generous discount on the first year for mini drivers?0 -
It actually seems to be done through Agnew Insurance in Belfast, so maybe not the same as the one on the website.0
