New to ppi

Hello to you all.
This is my first post, right i have been reading this forum for a while and i decided to try to reclaim some ppi after reading up on here.
My first attempt was with Alliance and Leicester,i sent them a first stage letter but the week later they sent me a letter saying i could have been mis-sold ppi etc, anyway i was phoning them about a second loan i had off them where i wasn't given any other information of ppi,it was sort of this is the loan with ppi(the girl even said it would be better for me as i said i needed the loan quickish to buy a car i had seen)They said they would process my complaint from then on,i am still waiting to hear from them,i did phone them to ask for a update and they have told me the 8 weeks will be up by the middle of July,so here's waiting.
Amazingly i asked the ppi claims assistant about my first loan off them, that i had paid off years back,i said i stipulated on the phone to the assistant that i don't need ppi has my job is safe etc(it was then)any way he came back to me and said there was ppi on the first loan:eek::rolleyes:,ok i should have known it i did sign paper work,i am a bloke after all,i didn't check and the payments come out of the bank...i am not to good at small details;).Last week they sent me a offer of the full ppi and 8% so all in all about £3500:T.Not got the cheque yet tho.
Right i am on a roll now,My partner got a loan from Lloyd's tsb a few years back so i am now just sorting out a stage one letter for them, she tells me(i wasn't present) that she wasn't offered any other loan than the one with the ppi on it,she went to the local bank for a loan, agreed the amount and that was it,she has signed a credit agreement form with the ppi on it but she says she thought that was the norm, question for someone if the loan is signed by one person from a joint account and my partner came out of work would they have paid the ppi while the other partner(on the account)is still working?.
Also i have a old cc bill that i have paid off with capital one.when looking through the old paper work i noticed there is ppi on the paper bills(not sure how much it was over the life of the loan/debt tho,now i have no recollection of agreeing to this ppi so is it part of the cc card agreement? and what is the best way to go about finding out/reclaiming the ppi on this cc.
Thas enough for now:o.
Keep up the fight.
Bill.

Hi Bill and Welcome.;)
Wow you are a natural, well done to you, congratulations.:T:beer::T.
You reclaim in the same way as you did with your loan, you can use the templates if you want to, or just use them as a guide, but with your own reasons.
I would also write to ask them for a written breakdown on the PPI in a separate letter, hopefully they will post these out to you, or you could request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they have 40 days to comply, for them to send you everything they have on you, however, there is a £10 charge for this in either by postal order or cheque payment, link to SAR template here:

Good luck with your girlfriends as well.;)
With her complaint, if they sold the ppi and did not cover her and yet she signed it then I would certainly complain.
Sorry if I have mis read on this.
Please post up for help anytime.
I take it you already know of the reclaiming guide and templates on this site, any problems, let us know, good luck hun.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome.;)
Yes you go for it, if you think you were mis sold for any reason then I can't see why now.
So your talking as from year 2000 then approx?
There is no harm in trying, if you know you were definately sold and mis sold the policy.
Here below is the link to PPI reclaiming guidelines, there are also templates, but if you want to write in your own words but use the templates as a guide and write your own reasons for how you were mis sold.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Keep at them until they send you the final response, where if eligible they will also give details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Post all letters by recorded delivery, and let us know how you get on, ask for help when required.;) Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

If the banks claim they can't find your details, simply write to the Information Commissioners' office, and file a complaint. In my first letter to Cap One I did not have a record of my account no. Yet they sent me my statements. I did send a second letter, but they sent st'ments. before receiving it.
The complaint form, on the Info. Comm's website is very easy to complete.
