What is a dissolved company?

Hi,
I got a leaflet through the door for clothing collection, blankets, etc. Unless I know the charity or company I normally check them out on the relevant registration web site to see if its legitimate. This leaflet company reg. number (6296698) is listed as dissolved on the Companies House site. Because my house, and presumably the local neighbourhood got this leaflet anyway I wondered if I correctly understood what a dissolved status is so to permit them to trade (or other) in this way.
Thanks.

A dissolved company is one which no longer exists. Therefore this appears to be a scam.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

A dissolved company is just that, no more... Deceased, it is a dead parrot
They are not entitled to trade, advertise or anything else as far as companies house is concerned it no longer exists....
I imagine they're scammers who will be selling on anything of any monetary value they receive.0 -
Hey I got that as well and reported it to trading standards although they were not overly bothered by it. My complaint was that the leaflet implied that items were for charity although this was not the case.
Did they spell Friday wrong on the leaflet?
I see you got yours in Yorkshire - they are clearly covering all areas of the country!
