Might as well do them both in one thread!
Sky TV - we have been a customer for 15 years - when I found out that new customers could get Sky+ free paying just £30 installation, I rang and asked if I could get it too - I was told that it would cost £160, so I rang to cancel Sky altogether. They told me that as a loyal customer I could get the Sky+ box free but would have to pay £60 for installation - I said no, I wanted it for £30 like a new customer would. They agreed !
Natwest - In October last year I was charged £114 in total for a cheque that bounced (account has £9 too little in there and I had other accounts with plenty of money in) - I agreed it had been my fault, but felt that £114 was excessive. After much too-ing and fro-ing of letters they paid me £114 in full last week.
