So you really didn't think it relevant to mention that the person in question wasn't British?

I've wasted quite enough time on this already; I'm sure that you can use Google quite as well as I can!

    1. No, because if she was employed in a standard job, working over 16 hours a week and earning under a certain amount, then as far as I know she would be eligible.

    2. I've already tried Google numerous times which is why I had hoped someone here could help.

    3. I'm a long time lurker and am well aware of the cliques that are present on the site. Numerous times I've seen newbies shouted down for simply asking questions.

Here's a revelation for you, you know how you can add multiple replies to the original post? Well many people find that useful for asking the OP more questions to find out more. You know, in case the OP hasn't specified all the details in the first place.

    4. If you have such a short temper, I wonder if spending your time on message board such as this is really the best use of your time. You know, the internet is full of people inferior to yourself, you wouldn't want to meet any of them now would you.

Thank you for advice in how to help people; I suggest you go away and put it into practice.

Which is what I was trying to do by asking a question here.

If you have viewed this board for a long time, then you would know that relevant information is required before any advice can be given. However, you felt fit to give the bare minimum, and even that was misleading.

You will also note that basic manners are also quite helpful. The word 'Thank you' does not appear to be part of your vocabulary.

Welcome to MSE. Good bye.

As stated before, it's quite simple for you to reply and ask for more information. No doubt if I had posted lots of irrelevant information for you to wade through that would have also irked you.

It's also strange that manners don't seem to be required for other people:

Thank you only becomes a part of my vocabulary if someone deserves it. Strangely, being arrogant towards me doesn't quite get you a thank you.

You knew from reading other posts what information we required.

We give up our own free time to help on here. Do you expect us to use this time to spoonfeed you?

ONW and I were both very polite to you until we realised that your complete lack of input meant we were going round in circles.

Hopefully you will find help on a website that is more preferable to you. However, this is unlikely to happen with your current attitude.

Which is what I was trying to do by asking a question here.

What you don't seem to realise is that I spent nearly an hour of my time finding out things for you, much of it wasted because you couldn't be bothered to give enough information. I don't think anyone here would have thought to ask if your friend was a British national as it would seem such an important thing to be told right from the start.

If you'd said at the start that your friend is from another country and is working as an aupair you could have been told straight away that WTC isn't relevant. It's also not possible to be a self employed au pair, which you should tell her.

As there were no other posts on this exact subject that I could find, how would I know what information was required?

Nobody is forcing you to help people. If you think there's not enough information to answer a question, it's easy to just ask the OP.
