Car Boots in Yorkshire

Now that the nicer weather is with us - has anyone got any recommendations for the above. Thinking mainly Wakefield & Barnsley and their surrounding areas - been to one this morning at Denaby Main, but more a market saturated with counterfeit DVDs :mad:

So folks where can I find all those bargains??!

There is a very large car boot at Doncaster Racecourse most (but not all-so check first) Sundays all year round.

Whitely Bridge have a big one never sold anything there myself as i go to Rufforth near York if i'm doing one (kids made £50 selling toys last month)

I'm afraid most are saturated with fake DVDs these days! However the one at Wakefield Market on Sunday mornings isnt as the council staff throw them off. It gets busy from about 6am onwards and is year round

There is huge market in East Leeds on a Sunday -sells everything. I normally pick up my toilet rolls in big batches for next to nothing. Get there early (before 9am) to get a parking space. I'm not sure of the name of the market - does anyone know the one I mean?

and bank holiday mondays. Sellers from 8.30am, buyers from 9am.

we went yesterday for the first time and it was quite good. We're going this coming bank holiday monday.

I'm waiting for news that the two monthly Car boots have started. 1) at Sandal cricket club, usually a reasonable size, and 2) usually within a week of Sandal C.C. at Pledwick (nearer to NewMiller Dam) I don't tend to bother with the other one at Sandal Rugby club.
Adverts usually appear in The Barnsley Chronicle, I've no idea about the Wakefield Press.

Oooh, there is a monthly one at Nostel cricket club too which is usually pretty good - I've had loads of bargains from there including a tailors dummy for £5

we saw the pannal one advertised as being 8pm on sundays! does anyone know if this is a mistake, and when it starts? we went at 8am and 8pm a few weeks ago, and found the field, but with nobody in it!

looking on the net i found two REALLY GREAT sites that list car boot sales, searchable by area, with dates times phone numbers and even website links (but one should always check the night before, just to be safe)

they are both free, welcome contributions to keep them up to date,

new events and event no longer going would help them keep up to date and even more useful. i've emailed them about one that is no longer going and a new one i found.

also they have an affiliate link to click on to keep them going!
