Putting offers in

Hi guys - some more advice pls. IS it standard practice to put more than one offer in? I have seen 2 houses I like OH is saying to me to put offers in on both and take the one that is lowest. As a seller I would hate for this to happen to me - where someone puts an offer in and could possibly withdraw it very quickly... raised hopes and all that, or is this normal? As I have only bought this one place and was only interested in this place then I do not have the experience really. Would appreciate any advice.

I would consider it bad form, decide which house you want more, offer on that first, if its rejected, then decide whether to offer on that again, or offer on your second choice, what if they both accepted your first offer, it just confuses the matter, and makes you look like a less serious buyer who is more likely to mess people about.Pawpurrs x0

I would pick one of the houses, explain to the agent that there is another one that you are considering, and then go in with a VERY low offer; an offer that you know would be rejected.
On rejection, I would go to the agent acting for house 2, and do the same.
When this offer is rejected, I would go back to house 1, and up my offer slightly.
I would repeat the process until one seller bites.
You would effectively be conducting an auction of sorts between the two vendors. Don’t feel any guilt about this, the seller would feel no guilt about having two buyers compete for a house.
You are in a fantastic position, don’t pay more than you have to.
