PMS - invite them. That way you're at least giving them the choice of whether or not they go. If the daughter is still going to Brownies then there is no reason that she may not want to go to the party and the little boy will probably still have fun as probably isn't really old enough to understand what happened - it might give them a good chance to take their minds of things too
    2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
    2013: £134.96
  • If the girl is not at Brownies tonight I might take the card to the Sure Start centre with a stamp on the envelope & ask them to pass it on for me, I know they are not allowed to give address out but do you think they could do this for me? I wouldn't do the invite this way as I don't know if that's inapproipate really.

Thanks for your comments about it, it's really shaken me up a lot :(

PMS invite them when my sister died 4 years ago and left three kids once the funeral was past only oldest went to it I booked a holiday and my youngest sister took them off for a fortnight while i sorted out house etc and they seemed to settle with the holiday and coming home to a fresh start although they still miss their mum now i think it's better for them at a young age to try and keep everything as near routine and normal as possible

PMS I agree with everyone else, I would invite the children, maybe write on the envelope that you just want to take their mind off things. Such a sad story. :(
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!
