The lock will certainly mean more peace of mind for you Flick. Good luck with the packing! :)

FE - the people there cant be worse than who you're sharing with now and having a lock on your door has to be an enormous plus :D

It's a flat in Kensington (Liverpool), 2 minutes from the Lidl store.

There's good and bad about it.

Good: All bills included, plus a flat is cheaper to heat than a house so we won't go over our allowance. 2 of the housemates are French, so more likely to be well behaved and maybe even cook nice food!! It's a bit nearer town than my current house. 2 bathrooms for the 5 of us. My room locks and has a sink.

Bad: It's up loads of stairs, dreading what it'll mean for postie!! A long way from job centre so hoping to be able to transfer to the one in town as it's nearer. It's a quite rough area. If we don't get on, there's less space to run away/hide.

well sounds better than what you've got now! Living in a flat is a pain for the postie but they're used to it and will have access - you'll still get most of your post... It's more of a pain for other delivery companies unless you have an external letterbox. I'm sure that's why I haven't received my big prizes

And not all french people are good cooks... None of my family is:( But hopefully these ones will be and will make you lots of lovely things :)

the lock sounds like the major benefit as does not having to live with those people anymore

    A lock brings a great feeling :D
My first student house had locks on the doors but I was living with my mates so none of our doors were ever locked. Brilliant
Moved into another house after our house disbanded. No locks. Hated it. Utterly utterly hated every second of it. Dreaded going to work, knowing others were in the house.. *shudders*
when do you get to move? (I assume you've already signed? :))
and don't assume the French will cook well - in the HorribleHouse, we shared with an Indian family (yes, a family of 4 in ONE BEDROOM!) and they cooked really really nasty food :rotfl:

    Yay Jenni :):)

Hey wokkies hope you're ok. xx

Home time in about 5 mins yay. :) Had a really productive afternoon - no more secret comping actually got proper work done! :) Fajitas for dinner if they've got any wraps in the Spar (none in M&S at lunch time - the only food shop in town). If not dunno really!
