Morning all. Was up a bit later today. :)

Neck and shoulders still bad - rubbish, was hoping sleep would make it go away.

Got to go and exchange our Bose sound thing today coz it started rattling which isn't right! Got it from John Lewis, phoned them yesterday about it and they've put one aside for us. But OH is still in bed so I've got time to come chat and place my tesco order.

It's really grey outside, looks like it's trying to rain - but then it was like that all day yesterday too.

Is everyone ok? Got nice Sunday's planned?

my oh said I only need a netbook?

have you got another laptop charger adaptor to try to see if it will charge on that as that was the problem with mine a while back. i could see my lappy would charge with my hubbys adaptor, so i knew it was worth ordering a new one cost about £30 i think. hope you get it sorted I would be lost with out my lappy

its the charger thats faulty but its an old laptop, my oh had one the same and the laptop wouldnt work off the mains, only the battery, so had to keep swapping batteries,
I am using oh at the mo, but just thinking ahead

He has taken the chargers to work to see if he can have a look at them

Morning cathy :) My BF was saying that I only needed a netbook for comping & stuff but when I looked at them the screens are a lot smaller & the keys are quite squished together so I opted to buy another laptop, even though it is a little heavier to carry around I wouldn't be able to comp (personally) with only being able to see such a small amount of the comp thread/comp website on the page!

My advice, nip to a shop that sells them & see if they will show you a webpage, preferrably MSE comp forum/thread, then you'll see if it is something you would be able to live with :o

In respect of your existing laptop, it depends how old it is & how much it cost, to decide if it is worth looking into it what has gone wrong. It may be the same thing that went wrong on my old lappy (battery charger board), perhaps the battery is so old/used it will no longer hold a charge so won't accept one, or even the power lead may not be giving enough volts through to charge the battery but is enough to run the laptop when plugged in. Apparently, if you are happy to do it yourself, you can pick up a battery charger board for £15-£20 on eBay. Th Workshop manual (probably available online) would tell you the exact part you would need & also how to take the laptop to bits to install it. I saw my BF & his dad do mine, it was a little scary watching it, but the manual gave step by step instructions to take all the bits apart :) I guess first/easier step would be to see if anyone you know has the same laptop then you could put your battery into their laptop to exclude the battery as the issue. Same thing for the power lead.

Phew that was a bit wordy for a Sunday morning :o See how good I am at putting off studying! :D
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Tesco order done and OH is out of bed so I'd best get dressed and go out.
    See you later.

 just checked my e-mail and school has sent a parentmail to inform parents that DS school has suspected case of swine flu:eek:
The results from their GP are expected early next week.

We have consulted with the Health Protection Agency on the matter and we wait their further advice after the results are known.

Meanwhile, school will be open as normal on Monday and we will continue with our hygiene arrangements as previously advised to you.
