Flights to USA being altered by Dial a Flight

Hi there, this is my first post so please be kind.

Today, I have been 'phoned by Dial a Flight they say that flights I booked last year have been cancelled due to a computer error on their side. We are a party of 7 flying next sunday to Orlando. They have suggested we go by Continental Airlines via New York to Tampa, thereby an hour driving to get to Orlando. On the return journey we will have a 5 hour delay in Huston, they offered initially 250.00 compensation then upped it to 500.00 for the group. Do you think this is fair, bearing in mind we have a 6 year old child in the group to keep quiet.

We could also fly from Heathrow via Washington, landing at 23.55pm at Orlando. They have offered no compensation for this flight.

What does everyone think we should do?

With a child you need the simplest hassle free flight as close as what you originally booked, do a search on the net to find what is available and then get them to provide it, even if it is in Premium Economy or Business class.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Thanks for that. We have spoken to Dial a Flight this morning, they have found another flight for us from Gatwick to Tampa via Huston with a delay of 2 hours, we are waiting to see if we can get any compensation for having to get to Gatwick.

Any chance of direct BA flights from Gatwick to Tampa? Might be better than indirect Continental flights. I suppose it is Easter and fairly busy.

  • I asked about this but not possible. We have now accepted flights from Gatwick via Newark to Tampa for a compensation of 500.00. Hopefully this will all work out. There is only a 2 hour delay in Newark now as opposed to the 5 hour delay in Huston.

    Thanks. :j
