Lake District

Hi everyone

We would like to go to the Lakes next Friday and Saturday night. 2 adults and a 13 yrs old. We would like to visit Windermere and weather permitting, mountain bike in Grisdale Forest.

I have rang a few B&B's and unfortunatley a lot are booked up. Did get a quote for £160 for two nights family room, I think that sounds a bit expensive, do you?

So based on my info, can anyone recommend somewhere, (I have tried the backpackers hostel and they're booked up too)

Thanks

near Keswick so a bit far out for you, but it is very nice!

    Hiya - try either https://www.cottageguide.co.uk or https://www.laterooms.co.uk

I live up near the Lakes and use both of these for our cottage!

Thank you for your replies, we have booked a room (family) from laterooms.co.uk and secured one for £130 for two nights with brekkie. When we rang the hotel to see how much it would cost as "Joe Bloggs" it would have been about £160, so saved £30, great stuff.

Hi Jeanna, just a bit of info I remember from when I went when I ws 15 yrs old... What a beautiful place in the world. I went bird watching, climbed The Old Man of Coniston attemped Scarfel Pike but gave up half way!! I saw some stunning senery and the magnificent Lakes.

So I want to do some family bonding by going to the great outdoors this time. I'd like to try some forest mountian biking, and picnic by Lake Windermere.

Heres a couple of websites I've found so far, just google it....
