  • Good thread, I shall be watching with interest.

    Nice to hang out with likeminded 'bulk buyers' as I was finding some other posters on this board seem to be against the concept of bulk buying as they class it as being greedy.

    My finds this week have been the olive oil in asda at 26p/100mls which I posted on the board and bagged the tuna at 1.50 for 3 tins and arla milk at 87p all in asda.

    I find bulk buying a cost effective way of spreading the cost of grocery shopping. Amy Dacyzyn advocates this method in her book 'Tightwad gazette'. I expect the supermarkets don't like it as most of the reduced buys are loss leaders and are there to lure the customers into the shop so they buy more of everything else.

    Out of interest, what number of any one item would you guys consider to be 'bulk'?
    Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
    Save £12k in 2013 no.34 £11,800/£12,000
    'How much can you save' thread = £7,050
    Total=£29,100
