Need help with Trojan infection file too large to go into virus vault

Recently had major problems with my laptop infected with WinPC Antivirus ...... had to reload Windows XP and everything has been clear for a few weeks.

Today my free AVG did a scan and there are now 3 files which it says are bigger than the archive size limit.

They are all Trojan Horse generic 13BKRY and all on files starting with
C:\System Volume Information\_restore ...... it also remove another similar file with the same start.

I've restored my comp to an earlier point but not sure if that will do the trick.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could help.

Thanks for reading

Turn system restore off, then back on (this will empty C:\System Volume Information) , install malwarebytes and do a scan, then replace avg with avira or avast.

Download the free version of Malware Bytes at http://www.malwarebytes.org

Update it then scan your computer.

By that I take it you used the Norton removal tool? :)

By the way, don't re-enable system restore untill you're sure your computer is clean from infection, otherwise you will get re-infected.

Thanks very much for the help.

For some reason switching off the system restore has allowed me to remove the infections ........ probably cos they are no longer there!

The virus vault is part of AVG so whether Norton was lucking or not that shouldn't effect it removing files should it? I only started getting problems removing infections when previous XP infected with WinPC Antivirus

Going to run malaware now as have updated.

It's Here if you want to run the Norton removal tool. Sometimes left over bits can affect other antiviruses, mainly when your installing the new AV so you might be alright, but it wouldn't hurt to run it ;)
