Barclays - £22 charges now £300 - help!

I've wondered if someone could give me some help as I'm now getting threatening calls from Barclays (just had another one and it's Sunday evening). 6 weeks ago, I apparently went over my overdraft limit by £20 - the bank didn't tell me but merrily kept charging me £22 every 5 days for being overdrawn, until they finally called me to say that i was now (because of their charges) over £200 overdrawn.

I've spoken to my bank manager who is "looking into it", i've written letters (no response) and now I've received a call from a debt collector at barclays saying the charges have taken it to nearly £300 and i need to pay.

Aren't these unfair charges? I admit that I unwittingly went overdrawn by £20, but somehow this has escalated to £300 with their bank charges and despite me trying to sort it out.

What can i do - i can't afford the £300 and they're calling me all the time demanding payment but refusing to talk to me about the charges. Any ideas who i can write to - the bank's legal dept? The FSA?

Thanks

First things first cancel the personal reserve, next thing is to start the process of claiming your bank charges back.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
